Miroslav Valenta Municipal Stadium in Uherské Hradiště is one of the most significant sporting and cultural venues in the south-eastern part of the Czech Republic. Its history dates back to the 20th century, when it first opened in 1926. Originally a simple ground, the stadium gradually expanded and modernised, reflecting football’s growing popularity in the region.

In the 1960s, the stadium underwent its first major renovation, during which its capacity was increased and its facilities improved. An important milestone in the stadium’s history came in the 1990s, when it became home to the newly established 1. FC Slovácko, which brought top-flight professional football to Uherské Hradiště.

A key event was the extensive reconstruction carried out between 2000 and 2003, which transformed the stadium into the form we know today. The modernisation included the construction of new stands and facilities for players and officials, as well as technical installations such as floodlights and undersoil heating, allowing matches to be held even in adverse weather conditions.

Following the completion of the reconstruction, the stadium was renamed in honour of Miroslav Valenta, a prominent patron and businessman who had a decisive influence on the development of sport in the region. With a capacity of more than 8,000, the stadium can host not only league and cup football matches, but also international fixtures and prestigious events.
